Cammareri's is long gone, but Naidres does have part of the original sign inside:

The screenwriter frequented it as an NYU student but now it is gone.
We tried to find it last year, but it is now a crappy chicken restaurant.
The real place was not on a corner so we know they shot the exterior elsewhere...
